Notes on - Psalm 24:1

Psalm 24:1
The earth is the Lord's,
and the fulness thereof;
the world,
and they that dwell therein.

What belongs to God?

 The earth,
the earth’s fulness,
the world,
and all they who dwell in the world,
 are the Lord's.

Here are some other truths along these lines.....

All thing are the Lord’s ~ Genesis 1:1,
He created them ~ Hebrews 3:4,
HE built all things, the worlds were framed by the word of God ~ Hebrews 11:3,
The Word (Jesus) was in the beginning, all things were made BY Him ~ John 1:1-3
Created by HIM and for Him ~ Colossian 1:16,
God created all things & for His pleasure they are & were created, ~ Revelation 4:11

Quote - David Livingston

2 Timothy 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling,
not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace,
which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.

1 Timothy 2:4
Who will have all men to be saved,
and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Galations 6:14
But God forbid that I should glory,
save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ,
by whom the world is crucified unto me,
and I unto the world.

God is Faithful

 God is Faithful

1 Thessalonians 5:24,
Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it

1 Corinthians 10:13,
… but God is faithful,
who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able;
but will with the temptation also make a way to escape,
that ye may be able to bear it.

2 Thessalonians 3:3,
But the Lord is faithful,
who shall stablish you,
and keep you from evil.

1 Corinthians 1:9,
God is faithful,
by whom ye were called unto the fellowship
of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Hebrews 10:23,
Let us hold fast
 the profession of our faith without wavering;
(for he is faithful that promised;)

Though Paul suffered imprisonment, beatings, a stoning, shipwreck, unjust trials, mockery, a thorn in the flesh, Paul still declared that his God IS faithful.
Paul does not say, He was faithful, speaking of the past. Paul says is, in the present. God was not simply faithful in the days of Paul, God is faithful today!
He always has been and always will be faithful!

I Know That......

During the course of a week it is highly likely you use the phrase "I know that."
We might be able to say "I know that" regarding a myrid of topics, but what about when it comes to the Bible?

The phrase "I know that" itself is found about 50 times in the Bible.
Here are a few examples of people and even God stating what they know.

God says "I know that" after Abraham shows his obediance and complete faith in God regarding Isaac.

Job states that God can do anything and know every thought we think.

The Psalmist states that not only is our Lord  great,
but that He is above every God.

The woman at the well states that she knows the Messiah is coming.
Within a short time she is made aware that she is standing in His presence.

The apostle Paul states the fact that many Christians struggle with,
regarding our flesh. We know to do right, yet our flesh keeps us
from performing that which is good.

Through out the Bible, there are truths that we can know...

~ God was manifest in the flesh, 1 Timothy 3:16 ~
~ God Created the Heaven & the Earth, Genesis 1:1 ~
~ God loves us & sent His Son to die for us, John 3:16 ~
~ We will give an account to God, Romans 14:12 ~
~ Every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, Philippians 2:11 ~
~ It is impossible for God to lie, Hebrews 7:18 ~
~ We have a Mediator, 1 Timothy 2:5 ~
~ We are witnesses to the world, Acts 1:8 ~

The list can go on and on with facts we know about God.
It is easy to know facts about God in our head,
but we need to know them in our heart so they will cause us to act upon them.

When you see a person walking down the street you know in your mind that one day they will stand before God. If we only know that in our head, it is unlikely that we will witness to them. It will be an inconvenience. But if we know in our heart that person is a soul going somewhere forever we will care enough about their eternity to share the Gospel with them.

Do I know that about the Bible in my head or in my heart?
